Michael J. Leclerc, CG,

a twenty-five-year professional in the field of family history, is a popular author, presenter and educator. He worked at New England Historic Genealogical Society, Mocavo, and Find My Past before founding Genealogy Professor. He has taught family history in many areas around the world. 

Michael is author of numerous articles for scholarly journals and popular magazines. He has edited several books, including Genealogical Writing in the 21st Century: A Guide to Register Style and More, Second Edition, with Henry Hoff, and the fifth edition of the seminal guidebook Genealogist’s Handbook for New England Research, and the “Crafting Family Histories” chapter in Professional Genealogy: Preparation, Practice, and Standards. He was a contributing editor for American Ancestors magazine, and a consulting editor for the New England Historical and Genealogical Register

The words Certified Genealogist and its acronym, CG, are registered certification marks, and the designations Certified Genealogical Lecturer and its acronym, CGL, are service marks of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, used under license by board certificants after periodic evaluation, and the board name is registered in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
